ARTWORK TO THE PRINTER

For the past several months I have been creating illustrations for each poem that will appear on the upcoming release. We are making a book for the new CD and the artwork has been sent off to the printers. Woo Hoo!!

Reuben Butchart & The Millworkers' album
"Nameless and Awake; Eight Poems by John William Carroll"
will feature all the songs developed at Watermill.

We wanted to share with you the cover of the CD.

THE GULL AND I (VIDEO)

Hello,

I've been spending the past few months working with Ryan Ball on the final mixes and I am happy to report that the songs are sounding amazing. Ryan is doing an incredible job.

Meanwhile, Mark Robert Jackson has been getting footage of our residency at Watermill into the computer so that editing the full-length documentary can begin.

To give you all a mini-preview of both we have edited some of the footage with the mix of one song: The Gull and I. The poem and an early demo were featured in an earlier post on this blog. Look at how far we've come.

thanks,
Reuben.

IN THE BASEMENT STUDIO

Hello Folks,

Just wanted to let you all know where we stand with the Watermill Project....

After making the raw recordings at the Watermill Center, I have been working for some months in my basement studio as producer -- making arrangement decisions, recording some overdubs of additional instruments, and getting the best vocal takes I can muster. Most of the 8 songs are ready to be handed off to a mixer. There are just two more that need a little bit more massaging.

After the album is mixed, we'll start looking into packaging for the CD and manufacturing options.

In the meantime, we are trying to raise funds so that we can begin the project of editing Director Mark Robert Jackson's footage documenting the recording sessions at Watermill. We hope to make a feature length documentary. Folks who want to be a part of the project are encouraged to make a donation using the form at the left side of this blog.

Thanks to every one for your support, interest, and patronage.

Be well,
Reuben.
